We first met Austin and Kelly at Ross and Crystal’s wedding last fall, and we were beyond thrilled when the “fun couple from the reception” called us shortly thereafter to photograph their wedding!

Kelly and Austin are easy people to love. They’re people magnets. You’ll see what I mean…

Reception pictures were very important to Austin and Kelly so rather than arrive early in the day and document themselves getting ready, they chose for us to arrive just in time for their first look so we could spend more time at the reception.

They had a bit of an audience for their first look!

Because another wedding was taking place at Coxhall Gardens, we rode the Hippo Party Bus around Carmel for plenty of wedding day portraits!

Yes, folks, we tell the whole story.

And a stop in downtown Carmel…

Troy’s favorite image of the day.

The WHOLE story:)

Austin and Kelly wrote their own vows. Before the ceremony began, we caught a sneak peek of Austin reviewing what he was going to say.

Kelly’s dad escorted her down the aisle to an acoustic version of “A Thousand Years” by The Piano Guys. Tears.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholls!

Enter: golden light. [sigh]

During dinner, the sun set. My thanks to Troy for documenting the change in light as the evening progressed…

My favorite image of the day. While they danced to “Hold You in My Arms” by Ray LaMontagne.
But don’t stop here! We just had too many pictures of this fun party to include in one post. Check out the next post, PART II, for more of Kelly and Austin’s reception story!

We love SNAPSHOTS!— especially at a wedding reception! Here’s a few of our favorites from Brad and Bethany’s wedding:

Thanks, Brad and Bethany, for a GREAT day. Blessings to you!

It’s such a privilege to be a part of a wedding. Our clients trust us. They trust us with their photos, of course, but it’s an honor that they trust us with their emotions and their families too. I’m not an emotional person, but at every wedding there’s a time when I have tears in my eyes.

Andy and Laura’s? their grandparent’s prayer during the ceremony
Ryan and Jaena’s? when they served communion to their guests
Chris and Susie’s? while Chris was dancing with his mom during the reception
Brad and Bethany’s? oh, just wait and see 🙂

My little tears seem a bit inappropriate at the time, but really, I’m emotionally invested in these people… their day… and they certainly do become our friends.

So on to Brad and Bethany… Their dream wedding was at the awesome Eiteljorg Museum in downtown Indy. What a fabulous wedding venue!

It was balmy and humid for Bethany’s bridal portraits with PERFECT light under the Eiteljorg walkway. A beautiful bride, great light, and A BIRDCAGE VEIL. PERFECT!

Bethany’s grandma and mom both walked down the aisle with this same white Bible.

Sometimes a random picture becomes a favorite–

After we walked inside with the bridesmaids, the dark clouds appeared. Troy was across the street where Brad was getting ready with his groomsmen.

Bethany and Brad are huge sports’ fans. Do you remember their engagement session?

It was storming and their outdoor wedding had to be moved indoors, but Bethany and Brad chose to see each other before their ceremony. The timing was perfect. With the disappointment of the rain, they needed to be together. Their first look brought tears in my eyes.

Overlooking their ceremony site…

together = a happy couple 🙂

Grandma had unexpected surgery and couldn’t be at the wedding. Enter: Skype. Don’t you just love technology?

Stay tuned for SNAPSHOTS! at their reception!
