I “met” Megan over the phone a few months ago and immediately loved her. She was so sweet, organized, and easy to talk with that I just knew we wanted to photograph their wedding. After emails and phone calls and Instagram posts, it’s such a joy to meet our couples in person at their engagement sessions. These sessions give us the opportunity to see how couples interact and give all of us practice for the wedding day!
Gavin and Megan requested more of an urban feel to their engagement pictures so we headed to one of our favorite alleys for their Marion, Indiana engagement session.
The weather has been beautiful in central Indiana, but while Megan and I watched the forecast the week leading up to their session, we knew the weather was anything but perfect– rain, wind, and 40 degrees. What?! I loved what Megan said in her email to me, “I’m willing to tough it out!” And tough it out they did. While Troy and I were dressed in winter coats, this couple shivered and smiled and laughed– regardless of the goosebumps :). And as we always say, “Momentary displeasure for a lifetime of beautiful pictures!”
Gavin and Megan met when attending Zoobilation, the Indianapolis Zoo’s fundraising event. Gavin’s sister, Erin, suggested he take Megan, Megan told Erin she didn’t want to be set up with her brother, but Gavin had just moved back to town and needed a date, and well…. it turns out that Erin knew what she was talking about. They’ve been together ever since!
I’m fascinated by couples’ stories. I mean, one look at these two and they just LOOK like they belong together, don’t they?
We’ll be capturing their wedding day on December 3 on Purdue University’s campus, and we can’t wait!
