The Freedom Barn Wedding | Nick and Ashley | Traci and Troy

Nov 5, 2018

Nick and Ashley dreamed of a relaxed wedding at The Freedom Barn, and we were honored to be a part of it!

How they met:

Here’s what Ashley said in her own words. “I worked with Kara bartending through college and Nick grew up with Blake since middle school. Kara & Blake were dating and thought Nick and I would make the perfect couple. Blake told Nick I would be at the bar that night. Nick dressed up in a nice outfit (he even ironed it) and expected to meet me. However, Kara did not inform me. She just brought me to the bar, hoping for the best.  Nick introduced himself and I didn’t even acknowledge him. He was so disappointed that he left the bar and went home. Later that evening (Blake and Kara still determined) invited ourselves back to Nicks place with some other friends. Nick & I hit it off as expected. He never told me until months later that he was the guy at the bar that I blew off. But now over the past five years, he won’t let me live it down! ”

The wedding:

I loved the cohesiveness of Nick and Ashley’s wedding day choices. They were married inside the barn, served breakfast foods for dinner, provided doughnuts for dessert, and offered packs of coffee as wedding favors. It was special and beautiful, cozy and inviting.

The Freedom Barn is a new venue in Indianapolis. Here’s an excerpt from their website, “Best of all every booking provides HOPE to fund the after care program with The Hope Center Indy, a non profit organization that the Freedom Barn is located on that provides after care support, vocational training and more for women escaping human trafficking in Indiana and surrounding areas. Not only does a portion of your fees benefit the women transition to freedom and wholeness, but also it supports their job training that The Hope Center provides in culinary, event planning, salon management, education and more! Your love, your event will give these women a second chance, give them HOPE!” How awesome is that?!

Here’s what Ashley had to say, “I don’t have enough good things to say about The Freedom Barn. The entire crew was amazing to work with from start to finish! As an emergency department nurse, human trafficking is near and dear to my heart. We loved being able to donate to a wonderful foundation (as well as spreading the word to so many who had no idea it existed) while having the best day ever! It was absolutely perfect!”

I couldn’t agree more!
