Kevin and Zara | Columbia Club Wedding | Traci and Troy

It’s the point in the wedding season where I get overwhelmed by our couples. They are all so lovely and gracious and kind and just GOOD people. It’s such a privilege to be a part of their days. Kevin and Zara were no different.  It was a privilege to be a part of their St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Columbia Club wedding.

The Couple:

Zara and Kevin first met in 2015 during their first year of graduate school at Butler University. Late night study sessions at the science library, tennis matches in the Butler Bowl, and Thursday schooner nights at Chumley’s eventually led to their first date. One day in the middle of July, Zara decided to share her Lou Malnati’s pizza with Kevin and the rest is history. Over the past few years, Kevin has learned how to make koldunus and Zara purchased an AJ Green jersey.

On a cool Easter weekend in 2018, Kevin surprised Zara and proposed at the Holcomb Observatory on Butler’s campus, which is where they had gone to look at stars numerous times after studying while in school. Waiting around the corner were family and friends ready to celebrate the engagement and the wedding festivities to come.

The Wedding:

“We pictured our wedding as elegant, simple, and personal. When we walked through the Crystal Terrace at the Columbia Club just over a year ago, we knew we got lucky. The historical space is so beautiful on its own with plenty of intricate details and amazing stained glass. Not wanting to overshadow the space, we tried to add little simple accents including plenty of greenery with simple white flowers. We made sure to include plenty of Lithuanian traditions and of course, some of our favorite baked goods. Luckily, our amazing vendors helped complete our vision!”

Here’s a few of our favorites from their day!
