You may remember Jack and Savannah with their memorable engagement session. We were so excited to spend the day with them at their Indiana Statehouse wedding and Skyline Club reception! Let me refresh your memory about them as a couple:
How They Met:
“I met Jack on my first trip to Evanston in 2012 when I was considering transferring to Northwestern. My future volleyball teammates took me to meet some friends on campus, and Jack and I ended up talking for a while. A few months later, I moved to Evanston. When Jack returned for fall quarter, we instantly recognized each other. After a few weeks of not-so-accidentally running into each other, we went on our first date for ice cream. Even now, it’s still our favorite dessert spot (for the memories and the frozen custard)!”
The Wedding
“We had always pictured our wedding as being traditional and elegant, and luckily, we found venues and vendors to bring that vision to life. When we learned that the Indiana Statehouse and the Skyline Club were available on the same day, we were sold (despite it being Mini Marathon weekend). We loved the marble columns and high ceilings in the Statehouse and the floor-to-ceiling windows with a built-in bar at the Skyline Club.
Inside, we wanted a light and airy feel to really take advantage of those big windows! We stuck to a color palette of white and silver with some pops of lavender and purple to give the venue a light wedding feel. We also lined the windowsills with votive candles to play off of the shimmery downtown lights at night. One of our favorite parts of the wedding décor was incorporating pieces of us as a couple, like doing table names with places we’ve traveled together instead of table numbers. We’re grateful for our vendors for bringing it all together!”
