I’ve had the privilege of knowing this awesome groom’s family for many years so I was thrilled when they asked me to photograph their The Lodge at River Valley Farm wedding. I love Jonathan and Chris’s story. Here it is in their own words:
The Couple
“I knew Jonathan’s mom before anyone in his family. We worked in the Admissions department of the University Jonathan and I attended. His mom soon found out that I was a CrossFit trainer passionate about special needs kids. And so, having a son with Down Syndrome, she reached out and soon enough I was training Jonathan’s 16-year old brother, Matthew. Jonathan and I had a few classes together; however, I had no knowledge of his relationship to Matthew. Over time, we both started to unknowingly crush on one another. Jonathan had figured out that I was the girl working with his little brother and I had figured out his relationship to Matthew.
Through the many schemes of Jonathan’s mom and brother, Adam, as well as a few friends, Jonathan worked up the confidence to ask me out for coffee. After a few incredible dates, we set on a path to continue getting to know one another over the summer and eventually started falling in love with the man and woman God had made us to be!”
Here’s a few of my favorites from their day!
